JUICE FEAST Day 36 - Habitual Addictions

Friday February 1, 2008 - Day 36

It's a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it. W. Somerset Maugham

I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk. Live with passion! Anthony Robbins

My love and I had a great discussion last night about habitual addictions. He declared no beer, wine or alcohol in his life for the past month. I, of course, have been on 100% raw liquid foods for the past 37 days. I find it an immense gift to take such an elogated break from the habits we have manifested over the years and it is so clear to see what my habitual addictions have been and what others have as theirs. Why do we ever over-eat? What is the underlying cause of this self-abuse? During my party days, I have certainly abused myself with alcohol. What made me want to continue when it made me feel so horrible? One thing is certain: We SO very much deserve to give ourselves the BEST, feel our BEST and share our BEST!! We are worthy!! We are worthy!! It is one thing to know this intellectually and another to experience it! It is time to explore what really serves us and others and truly make it a part of our lives. David Wolfe always says "Have the BEST day ever!" He says this every single day and he means it! Every day of our lives (that means NOW!), we have the very BEST day ever!! Isn't that exciting?! I feel very grateful to be giving myself this amazing gift right now and send a heartfelt thank you to all who inspire me in their beautifully unique ways! We all have so many gifts to share with each other.

You are the inspiration! Beautiful post, thank you!

I realized today on the way to gym that everytime I get into my car, I mentally check how much money I have on me and then I start planning what "treats" I'm going to buy. I mean, I have gone through the drive-thru at McDonalds on the way back from gym! I wonder how long it will take before that compulsion is gone!
