Family Reunion pics and gentle cleanse...
Aaaah! Alas, here are some fun pics from our family time in Maine. Auntie grew an amazing garden this year that supplied us with giant, gorgeous salads twice a day, fresh basil pesto, spiralized zucchini and edible flowers...yum! It is such a treat to harvest right in the yard! It has been raining so much, she hasn't had to water it at all!
And since we have been home, we have been picking wild huckleberries! Our purple hands show we are guilty as charged! I have also been doing a very gentle, modified cleanse after eating so much good food! I am drinking Intestinal Drawing Formula 2-3 x/day and taking Intestinal Movement Formula 2-3 x/day. I started this on Monday and will continue for a week. It feels great after feasting so much to be clearing out the tummy. We have cucumbers galore ripe in our greenhouse and luckily, it is my new favorite food! I have been eating a big cucumber everyday, just dipped in some salad dressing or zucchini hummus. With it's high water content, it is so hydrating, cooling and filling in a nice way-they are delicious fresh picked!! We are seriously looking into investing in a geodesic dome greenhouse (check out Growing Spaces), so we can grow fresh food year-round-it would be such a treat and a dream come true!! We'll see if we can get the money together and make it happen! Everything is possible, si?
Sending big Love! Kelly Ordway! :)
p.s.- I forgot a very key top ten item for what to do when big rain strikes on your family vacation...Aunt Kim busted out a chia pet and I hear it is in full bloom now!!

Top 10 Things to do when it Rains/Flash Floods on your Family Vacation!!
Auntie hasn't had to water her garden yet this year because it has been raining so much! Then the night before last, the torrential downpour lasted for 12 hours to accumulate 7 inches!! LL Bean shut down their huge distribution center and just 100 yards down the road from us, the road completely washed away, turning a trickling stream into a raging river where the road used to be be. It took the water main with it and we are so grateful we are on a well since the family is graciously hosting atleast 15 house guests!! Day after day of rain, we are getting good at alternative fun in the not-so-sun! Here's the Top 10 list when cabin fever strikes...
10. Try to read a book around 20 fun-loving relatives...yeah, right!
9. Learn new card games like Set-back/Pitch!
8. Pick out your favorite bootie socks and vinyl-velcro shoes to go bowling!! (Everyone is happy just to break 100!)
7. Don your blue racing suit and helmet for Indoor go-cart racing...yahooooo!!
6. Go dancing and wish you could dance as well as your aunts and uncles!
5. Walk down the street in your rain jacket to gawk and give interviews at the local natural disaster!
4. Pray for some sunshine...
3. Intersperse yoga mats in between furniture and experience podcasts of yummy yoga!
2. Trade massages upstairs with your cousin who is a fellow therapist...yum!

Garden Goodies!!
Aloha! We are away on a family reunion trip in Maine and having such a great time! It has been raining a ton and we have also been getting some good sunshine and harvesting auntie's garden like crazy! She grew a huge, abundant garden this year, so our group meals are blessed with gargantuan bowls of fresh greens, herbs and edible flowers like nasturstiums. We've also been making fresh basil pesto, spiralized zucchini raw pasta, zucchini hummus and raw crackers. We are so very grateful because it would be hard to keep that much fresh food around to feed 10-15 people each meal unless we were able to harvest it straight out of the garden each meal. They also have a great license plate that says "Support Local Agriculture". We are one lucky family! The young men are at grandma's insulating the attic while us ladies are enjoying each others company and dehydrating raw crackers. A few mornings we have scattered in between the furniture throughout the living room for yoga...Aunt Kim might share some Qi Gong with us. Besides that we have been indoor go-cart racing (sooo fun!), to the beach, had a bonfire and laying lots of games (cranium, apples to apples, pool, ping pong). Wishing you the best day ever full of fresh food and great company!! xoxo
