Wednesday, January 16, 2008 - Day 20!!
Work with the hands is the apprenticeship of honesty. May the work of your hands be a sign of gratitude and reverence to the human condition. Mahatma Ghandi
This is a photo from our abundant greenhouse last year (Thanks Bud and Diane for the amazing wedding gift!). Our neighbors put their house on the market and their realtor told them (referring to their greenhouse) -you've got to get rid of that ugly thing! It's amazing that a structure that can you can grow your own food in could possibly devalue your home. Luckily, we were gifted with the greenhouse and it was a FUN 1st year...squash, corn, tomatoes, tomatillos, cucumbers, basil!! Today I brought up the last fall harvest basket from our garden. I was disappointed there were no more carrots, but the potatoes are gorgeous-all different colors, shapes and sizes-definitely homegrown! Although I enjoy the break for a little while, I also can't wait to be digging in the soil again and gathering veggies from the garden rather than the health food store (but it's a great winter alternative, thank goodness!). I've been meaning to plant some chard and cilantro seeds to see if they would grow well in pots in the winter, so I'll keep you updated! I do grow my own sprouts in a Sproutmaster tray. It works awesome and makes abundant amounts of sprouts very affordable (Thanks Shonna for the thoughtful birthday present last year!).
- 2 qt celery, chard, apple, sprout, lemon
- 16 oz pineapple, romaine
- 18 oz grapefruit
- 1 Tbsp each...bee pollen, hemp oil, coconut oil, Vitamineral Green
- 1 Tbsp x2 Intestinal Drawing Formula, 1 tsp chlorella, 1 tsp spirulina
- 1/4 tsp kelp, 1 sytemic enzyme, 75 minutes cross country skiing
Love and Light, Kelly
